Well, first, a word about this particular, stunning automobile. It got its unveiling early in the year at the Geneva Auto Show. Wiesemann is, of course, a German manufacturer, founded by Martin anf Friedhelm Wiesemann — brothers — back in 1985. Manufactured in Dulmen, the cars are actually built by hand.

BMW comes in courtesy of the engines.

Specifically, BMW’s extremely powerful, purring 4.8 liter V8 — with a whopping 367 horsepower — can be found under the hood of the Wiesemann GT MF4.

Not only that, but BMW’s famed engine will get even more publicity during the Frankfurt Motor Show. Why? Because the Wiesemann company will be building a GT MF4 … live, right at the show.

Ours is a culture that emphasizes speed and efficiency, and one of the ways in which we can see this manifest is the demand for faster cars. And with the modern models of advanced diesel cars continuing to make their way into the market, consumers are now looking for cleaner diesel engines that can deliver peak torque at a low rpm. This is where BMW’s 2009 335d comes in.

The 2009 335d is one of the latest examples of diesel cars that show just how useful low-end torque can be. The 335d is the company’s first diesel model to hit North American shores in more than two decades, and can produce full torque at just 1,750 rpm. The 2009 335d also has 130 more lbs-ft (the 335d has 425 lbs-feet) compared to the BMW M3. And with a 265 horsepower, the 335d can go from 0 to 60 mph in just six seconds.

The 335d also has a 3.0-liter six-cylinder that is coupled with twin turbochargers to boost the aluminum block. The twin turbochargers work such that the smaller turbo provides boost at low rpm and then the larger turbo increases levels of pressure as revs are built. What then results is a power rush from idle to 4,200 rpm horsepower peak. The BMW 335d gives buyers the option of getting a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel if they buy the Sport Package.

The BluePerformance diesel used in the 335d is 50-state emissions legal and delivers 33 mpg on the highway. The 335d also has lower CO2 emissions compared to other gas engines of the same size.

Amid the tougher emission standards set by the international community and the stiffer budget constraints, BMW decides to drop the high revving power plant of its M cars and switch to direct injection turbocharged engines.

The move will make a big character difference in the M cars known for their high performance, dependability, functionality, and their high revving race car like engines.

The X6 xDrive M will be the first BMW car to have the transformation as it enters the market June 2009. The X6 is designed to test the waters with rivals Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG and the Porsche Cayenne GTS. The X6 will sport the twin turbocharged V8 engine. This power plant will also be the heart and soul of the M5 set for release come 2010.

The new engine for the X6 will still be able to give what the car and the rider needs according to BMW officials. The M-powered X6 will be able to blaze from 0 to 60 mph in as short as 5 seconds. The top speed is expected at 155 mph.

The makeover for the M cars is not a downgrade but will just mean better consumption and lower emission.

Some car enthusiasts see the BMW move to pave the way for the appreciation of the past M cars. A lot are also anxious if the new engine will be able to match the gut wrenching performance of the naturally aspirated BMWs.

Rival Mercedes-Benz has also plans to turbocharge their V8 6.2L engine to be use for their 2010 directly injection engines.

The 730 Horse Power V10 bursts tremendous power (I can only imagine the brutality of the sound when you rev this thing), and reaches well over 7000rpm to get to the top speed…

With a base price of well over $365,000 this extraordinary vehicle is not one I’ll be driving soon — but as BMW fan I just had to share this one… Enjoy the pics!
